Privacy Policy
Effective 22 August 2026
Financial Compass (“the app”, “we”) is a profit and advertising-efficiency analysis system that works inside a Google Sheets spreadsheet that you own. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: your data stays in your spreadsheet and on your own computer — we do not collect it, store it, or share it.
1. Information the app accesses
- Google Sheets spreadsheets you connect. When you sign in with
Google, you grant the app permission to see, edit, create, and delete Google Sheets
spreadsheets (the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheetsscope). The app uses this permission only on the spreadsheet(s) you explicitly work with: it reads business figures you keep there (such as sales, costs, and advertising spend) and writes calculated results (such as margins and efficiency metrics) back into the same spreadsheet. - Basic Google account identity. Google’s sign-in process confirms which account authorized the app, so your sign-in can be remembered on your device.
The app requests no other Google permissions. It cannot browse your Google Drive, read your email, or access your contacts, calendar, or any file other than spreadsheets used with the app.
2. How the information is used
Spreadsheet data is processed on your own computer to produce the analysis described above. It is used for no other purpose: no advertising, no profiling, no analytics about you, and no training of artificial-intelligence models.
3. Where the information lives
- Your spreadsheet data remains in your Google account and, during processing, in memory on your own computer. We operate no servers that receive or store your spreadsheet data.
- Your sign-in token (the credential Google issues after you click “Allow”) is stored in a file on your own computer. It is never transmitted to us.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone. Because your data never reaches our servers, there is nothing for us to share.
5. Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure
Financial Compass’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Your choices and control
- Revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions — remove “Financial Compass” and the app can no longer access your spreadsheets.
- Delete the local token by deleting the token file from your computer; the app is signed out immediately.
- Your spreadsheet is yours. Delete it, move it, or restrict it at any time in your own Google account.
7. Children’s privacy
Financial Compass is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
